Meth In Motel's Water Supply?

At the Super 8 Motel in Portales, New Mexico, a "crystal-like substance" has been observed coming out of a faucet and in the ice machine. "It was tested and provided a presumptive positive indication for meth." Portales is 231 miles from Albuquerque, according to Google maps. And as for the water supply, the answer is right there on the city government's website:

The water for the City of Portales and Roosevelt Water Coop comes from two well fields. One, the Blackwater wellfield, is ten miles northeast of Portales. The Secondary wellfield, Sandhill, is located about three miles north of Portales. The average summer water demand is 3.5 MGD. The City has four storage tanks that hold 9.25 MGD.
