INCIDENT: Home invasion robbery
DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: August 17, 2014, 3:45 PM
SUSPECT: Arturo James Echagaray; Desert Hot Springs Resident; Male, Hispanic, 5' 11", 130 lbs, 22 years old
CHARGES: PC 212.5-Home invasion robbery; PC-243(d)-Battery causing serious bodily injury; PC 182(a)(1)-Conspiracy; PC 422-Criminal threats
STATUS: In Custody, RCJ-Banning

On Sunday August 17, 2014 at about 3:45 PM, Officers were dispatched to the 66600 Block of Flora Avenue for a home invasion robbery that occurred. Officers arrived and spoke with the male adult victim who said he was in the garage when he was approached by three male suspects. The suspects confronted him and a fight ensued. The suspects produced weapons and took the victims property from his person which included his car keys. The suspects left in the victim's vehicle.

Surrounding agencies were notified of the suspect's description and stolen vehicle information.

Shortly after, Officers of the Cathedral City Police Department spotted the vehicle and a pursuit ensued. Desert Hot Springs Police Officers joined the pursuit when the vehicle reentered the city. The pursuit terminated at Park Lane and Verbena Drive, where two subjects ran on foot. With the assistance of Cathedral City Police, Palm Springs Police, Riverside Sheriff's Department and air support from the California Highway Patrol, Arturo Echagaray was apprehended without incident.

Officers canvassed the area for the outstanding suspects but they were not found.
