For Those Who Miss Rick Daniels
Rick Daniels interviewed by Zachary A. Lopez of Needles, California.
Rick is a tough guy. I know I couldn't go 13 minutes and 9 seconds without rolling my eyes.

In the interview Daniels responded to a question referring to economic development downtown (around 4:30), he stated "the city doesn't decide where businesses are located, THEY decide" This was not his view when he was city manager of Desert Hot Springs. He also said in this interview where he is now city manager of Needles California that "the city doesn't do anything about the homeless, the city only handles things like roads, parks, water, fire." That wasn't what happened in Desert Hot Springs either, there were many things that the city did for homeless such as supporting Roy's Resource Center creation and implementation and providing funds to the local food banks. He also said "the only way to grow is to have a common vision". Well, Desert Hot Springs had plenty a common vision, the Vortex which borrowed 30 million and still owes bondholders, and with the money wasted on other failed "common visions" like the Music & Wellness Festival. Now the city is facing a $7 million shortfall and impending bankruptcy.
