Thelma & Louise at 20

2011 will be the 20th anniversary of the release of Thelma & Louise, the movie that launched Brad Pitt. Vanity Fair has an article about the casting. Meryl Streep was considered for the role of Louise. She thought that one of the women should survive at the end of the movie.

"I live in New York," Susan Sarandon says, explaining why she wasn't aware of what was, in the late '80s, the hottest script in Hollywood. That is, until Scott sent it to her. "Susan had the authority, the sensibility. She was Louise," he tells Weller.
