Neighborhood Renewal Program Work Unveiled Tomorrow

City of Desert Hot Springs Redevelopment Agency Announces Completion of Neighborhood Renewal Program Home Improvements

The Neighborhood Renewal Program is an exciting opportunity for Desert Hot Springs residents to apply for up to $15,000 in grant funding to improve the exterior of their homes, including weatherization, roofing and landscape improvements. The goal of the program is to extend City assistance to stabilize neighborhoods, promote homeownership, remove blight, provide public safety and reinvest in the community The mission of the Program is to create economic recovery through neighborhood partnerships.

The Agency is proud to announce that the renovation of the homes in the initial funded neighborhood is nearing completion. The first completed house is located at 66146 6th Street, and an unveiling of the Improvements will take place on March 9, 2010 at 10:30 AM. The public is invited to join Mayor Yvonne Parks and homeowner Margaret Block to celebrate the completion of the renovations.

"The Neighborhood Renewal Program is an opportunity for our residents to enjoy an improved quality of life through needed home improvements," said Mayor Yvonne Parks. "As additional homes are completed property values will rise, and we will see the continued beautification of our neighborhoods."
