Grand Teton Photos
Panorama looking east from Mormon Row. There are bison out there, but you need to look at the full size image to find them.
Ferry squiggles on Jenny Lake.
The one and only sign I saw in Grand Teton encouraging visitors to stay on trails to preserve nature. Grand Teton, doubtlessly due to its unusual history, is probably the most developed national park I've been in. It was the horror of the already overdeveloped flat areas east of the mountains that pushed FDR to create the Grand Teton National Monument. Since then it's been a process of rolling back that overdevelopment. There are still active ranches within the park and some ranchers outside the park still have grazing rights within the park. In many areas of the park you can see multiple human paths wandering through the brush like rabbit trails. I saw no such warning signs in those areas, nor any structures to try to direct visitors onto only one or two paths.
The Snake River during our float trip.
Pete, the pilot on our Snake River float trip. This is what all recently graduated English majors look like.
That wraps up all my photos from Grand Teton National Park. See all of them here.
