"The Night of the Hunter" is a terrific movie. When I saw it in the movie theater as a youngster, it gave me nightmares for weeks. One of Robert Mitchum's best performances...the personification of evil. It's a shame that Charles Laughton didn't direct more films. I think that was his only directorial effort.
