DHS Holiday Lighting Winners
I think the official word isn't going out to the media until tomorrow, but I saw that the Chamber of Commerce had already released the addresses of the winners, and tonight at the meeting of the Community & Cultural Affairs Commission, photos of the winning homes were displayed to the vast, vast crowd in attendance. IOW, this info is already out there, so here are photos of the five winners of the 2011 holiday lighting contest in Desert Hot Springs.

13860 Hermano Way, The Mayor's Award. This house displayed an impressive amount of precision work. Very much worth a drive by.

66326 San Juan Avenue, Sweepstakes Award. An eclectic array of decorations taking advantage of a wide yard.

66170 5th Street, 1st Place. A narrow yard, but the owner makes up for it by layering the decorations very deeply. The photo does not do it justice. You have to come by and look around.

10365 Cactus Avenue, 2nd Place. Very close to the Sweepstakes Winner above. You can't miss it!

11600 Verbena Drive, Honorable Mention. This homeowner was surprised at his win because he had reduced the amount of his decorations from last year. Restraint and good taste can be justly rewarded, even in Desert Hot Springs.
The winners were selected by the Community & Cultural Affairs Commission.
