Does The Emergency Preparedness Committee Know About This?
A website that calls itself "Survive The Apocalypse." Their scope is worldwide and they are considering all possible apocalypses: invasion by space aliens, total collapse of society, the second coming of Christ, a black man in the White House, etc. One would think that such a site should be good enough to provide some direction to help deal with the inevitable 7.9 magnitude break in the southern San Andreas fault that will bring our local apocalypse.
But one would think wrong. Here is their Equipment Check List. Take a look at that, and you will quickly realize it has been put together as a joke by pointy-headed dweebs. Not only does the list fail to include even the basics that are supposed to be in your earthquake kit (food, water, prescription medication, matches, candles, campstove, batteries, a hat to keep the sun off - "Russian Bomber Hat" doesn't count), but it doesn't even include the Ten Essentials that you're supposed to take along on any hike in the wilderness, specifically sunblock and sunglasses. Nor are there any supplies for keeping clean or dealing with poop.
And if we're talking about a genuine global (or at least continental) apocalypse, why not stockpile some gold?
