Speedboat Races On The Salton Sea This Weekend
The American Power Boat Association is organizing boat races on the Salton Sea December 5-7. It seems the place to be will be the Salton Sea State Recreation Area which the APBA calls Salton Sea Recreation Park. According to this article they will be trying to break world records. Gonna be just like the old days, sort of.

It was just like the old days! Cars lined up on the highway to get in, 14 world records set over the three days, and the State Park registered 3000 vehicles. Next year's Speed Week will take place the second weekend of December. Between now and then the bugs we experienced should be worked out. Over all, the history making inaugural event was overwhelmingly successful.
