New SunLine Bus Bench
Isn't it pretty? A metal bench in that rich blue with zero shade. I'm going to sit there at noon on the first day over 110° and see if I don't get permanently branded.

These are Sunline benches put there by Sunline, not by the city. The project has been brought up a few times in city council meetings. It's Sunline's goal to immediately provide a decent bench at every bus stop in the valley and eventually to provide a shade structure at every stop. The project to build shade structures will take a few years to complete.

I must admit I do like blue but I think a little more planning should have been put into the type of bench DHS has installed. It would be nice if there were some shade put up to keep you from the hot sun and a softer seat. Did you run out of money or ideas? Betty

Today, as I drove around the Coachella Valley I saw numerous bus stop waiting locations. All were beautiful. On arriving home and opening my computer I was amazed at the site of the new metal bus bench recently installed in Desert Hot Springs. It is too bad it has been painted blue otherwise I could have gone down to the location on a hot summer day and cooked hot dogs for lunch.
