Rick Astley Speaks
Over the last year or so, Astley has watched with puzzled amazement as "Never Gonna Give You Up" has been mocked, celebrated, remixed and reprised, its original music video viewed millions of times on YouTube, all by a generation that could barely swallow its Gerber carrots when the song first topped the pop charts."I think it's just one of those odd things where something gets picked up and people run with it," Astley said. "But that's what brilliant about the Internet."
If you just want to see the original video, no tricks, here it is.
UPDATE: That link to Astley's video is being blocked in the United States! Worry not, he's never gonna give you up: there's still this copy of it. This one works too. Here's a version with popups. We may have to resort to desperate measures like this!
The Rick Astley Video Megamix, although at only 5:29 it's a fairly compact mega.

Yup, I thought Rick Astley was a big black guy, judging from his voice. I was amazed when I saw this spindly white kid. Where does that voice come from?

Ron thx for the link, it brought back quite a few memories of meeting friends for work after work at Luxor (was it called that back then?)... The voice is so distinctive I remember hearing it for the first time. This kind of baritone does not come around very often. Jim Morrison and Michael McDonald come to mind even though they were in totally different genres.
