Cactus Thorns In Your Skin

Here's a nice little list of suggestions of ways to remove cactus thorns from your skin. They all sound workable except the first one on the list: "Use a magnifying glass to get those buggers out & remember to wash with alcohol." I guess you go out in the sun and use the magnifying glass to focus the sun's rays on the thorn and burn it out.

I've never heard of any specific soak for this. I would think any soak that feels good could help: epsom salts, baking soda, ocean water, vinegar, piss, creosote (chaparral) tea, Dr. Bronner's soap. Just don't mix them together!

I was at the beach and stepped on a cactus plant. Is there something I can soak my foot in to draw them to the surface so that I can use tweezers to pull them out? How about epson salt?

Thank you for the ideas of thorn removal.
The thorns in my hands are from a catus which blooms the most beautiful yellow blossoms.
Created a new rock garden, with protective gloves, I thought!
Washed my hands as gently as one may, poured listerine over my hands for a antiseptic, then applied preperation H, and waited a few minutes, used a bright light, good glasses, and a wonderful tweezer. Showered and reapplied the preperation H. My hands feel much better.

Oh dear, my humor has shot over another person's head. Should I aim lower?

how daft, if you burn the thorns you'll burn your hand! it must mean use mag glass to LOOK at thorns and pull out with tweezers.!

She has cactus in her?! I'd suggest a qualified surgeon. If, however, you mean cactus THORNS, which is the subject of this posting, then why not just follow the link?
